Messmann's Messquerade '05

Here is what I did with Jill and a bunch of crazies on Saturday Night.

I went to my TOPS Fall Rally from 10 am to 4 pm up in Shoreline. I then went to Jill’s over in the Magnolia district, changed clothes and loaded up Rosemary to drive up to Capitol Hill. We then got our bikes together and rode to Café Vita on Capitol Hill (10th and Pine). We then waited around, talking and having fun with people while we waited for the manifest to be handed out. We hooked up with Art, David (who we both already knew), Zack (from .83 rides) and Davis (from .83 rides).

We finally received it around 8:45ish.

We then split into two groups. Zack and Davis took off towards the north-end to find some answers. We split off on the hill. Art lost us after the third destination so we missed out. Jill was able to call Zack (having got his number while reading the manifest) and we decided to meet them down at the pig – at Pike Place Market. We then went back up to the hill and chased around a school bus and other things (Cuffs matchbook, etc.). Then we went to Pioneer Square where I somehow ended up riding the mechanical bull at Cowgirls, Inc. Don’t ask… it was pretty crazy but fun!!!  Here is the video and a pic of Jill and I down at the Pike Place Market – with a wood carving that Jane did: www.math.washington.edu/~treisman/messquerade Our diva, Jane, created that when she used to own the leather shop on the corner next to the flying fish shop. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyway… we then went to the after party at 1st and Lander. We were there around 11 or so…. Ate around midnight…. Left around 1ish… Zack and Jill talked most of the time at the post-party. Davis and I talked most of the time there too. It was a blast. I then had to take my ass back up that hill to my car. *sigh* I got home around 2:30 and to bed around 3. It was pretty crazy but a lot of fun too!!! 
