Track does a body good....
I just want to share my good news...... :) After struggling this winter with my dang 'licking my wounds' from my attack (non-serious,of course. I kicked the arsehole's arse!! Was there any doubt?!!?!) and then dealing with the ex-boyfriend and all that..... Many of my friends know I struggled with the emotional and mental energy I needed to just get up every day, to go to work, to go home, to just deal with things the way I had to deal with them. I was frustrated I wasn't physically where I wanted to be since I was having a hard time getting out and about. I kept pushing myself and I was riding stronger this year but it still wasn't having a positive effect on my weight-loss goals.I emailed my previous personal trainer, Danyll, and desperately asked her what I should do with my eating vs. training. I wanted to make sure I wasn't eating too much for what I was burning off on the track with the training and races. I also wanted to make sure I was keeping my muscles and burning fat. She suggested that I keep a food journal. I have always hated keeping a food journal and felt they did the opposite effect on me; however, I reluctantly did it starting 7/13/05. I also got my butt back in the gym. It is hard to get in the gym during the summer when I am so busy and I try to enjoy other activities (biking, hiking, family, friends, camping, etc.) but I decided I needed to do it. If I can't get in the gym then I have been pushing to be more diligent about working out at home with my free weights.
The story has now changed...
Let's see we (Jane, Jill and I) all started racing on July 11th. My last weigh-in, with my TOPS group, was July 12th. I weighed in last night and I have lost 9 lbs since the 12th!!! YEAH!!!! I am hoping with the hard training we will all be doing this winter, etc. that I will be able to keep it off and perhaps then some!!! Also means I probably need to keep that up forever and ever and ever and ever and ever.... and ever....and ever... and..... ;) Hee hee
Anyway..... here's to good kicking butt times on the track! :)
